I think my hair loss may have started as a result of attempting to take a second round of accutane a couple years ago.
I had only taken it for a week, maybe too, but it was around that time that I had started experiencing hair loss and eczema. I had taken a full 6 month round of accutane when I was about 17 and didn't seem to have any problems with side effects.
Following Peat's guidelines, I haven't made any progress with my hair loss situation.
Given that accutane acts somewhat as a chemotherapy drug, and since I was poisoned by an antibiotic that behaves in a similar manner, I think it would be delusional at this point for me to think I could stop it.
Since my situation is hopeless, I'm wondering, could the accutane have "turned on" any snps that I may have had for baldness? Has anyone else experienced this?
I'm a 23 year old male and I've lost more than half of my hair in a 24 month period.
I would also be curious to know if fluoroquinolones and accutane can cause PERMANENT, IRREVERSIBLE mitochondrial damage.
