I’m starting a 10 days course of Bactrim (Trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole) tomorrow for a recurring UTI. Dosage 800 mg/160 mg two times a day. I was treated with Pivmecillinam, an extended-spectrum penicillin antibiotic, in Mars.
What can I do to prevent potential damage? I believe its quite rough on the liver and kidneys. It can also cause hypoglycemia. Neurotoxicity is another risk.
I have vitamin K2 (Kuinone) coming this week. Anything else specific to this type of antibiotics?
Thanks
