My girlfriend has a heterozygous mthfr mutation - is it safe for her to take a b-vitamin complex containing 200 mg folic acid (50% RDA)? I'm talking about safety, not efficiency. Thanks!

Who knows about "safety", lots of variables in the different ones offered for sale, including possible excipients. Here's Chris Masterjohn on the issue of the mthfr mutation:

I watched a recent YouTube of Steven Gundry, MD and he suggests getting the methylated for of folate, crushing it and keeping it under your tongue until it dissolves. The same for B12.
