Iron labs lower after red meat diet

After eating red meat an average of twice a day for over a year, I got my iron tested. Serum iron, saturation and ferritin are all lower. Could it be that the blood tests are not reflecting tissue stores or was Ray wrong about being worried about the iron in red meat? I feel fine so I don’t really have any reason to suspect I am getting too much iron.

Seems he was more concerned with supplemented iron rather than that in whole food.
Did you get your transferrin measured?

No I didn’t have that tested. Is it the same as iron binding capacity? Mine is 296 and in the past it was 277 so that one doesn’t seem to have changed much.
