Slight correction - they write about Estrogen-related receptor (ERR), witch has a completely different function than the Estrogen receptor (ER).
However, despite the recent publication behind that article (A Synthetic ERR Agonist Alleviates Metabolic Syndrome - PubMed) which I cannot open - there is wide disagreement in the field around the exact function of the ERRs (there are several ones which al work together).
