I have read here that Peat said that certain kinds of motion that shock the gut can trigger high serotonin, like running.

What about something as simple as rocking in a rocking chair?
Does the gut perceive that as a "stress"?

I have looked through peat's emails on this site, and found nothing about that.

If the movement includes discomfort then yes
If there is an underlying condition like an ulcer, or very low blood sugar, the person will be more sensitive to sudden movements. Even getting up out of your chair fast, or walking up some stairs.
