Hey all, I emailed this to Ray Peat but I hope someone can chime in here as well:
"Dear Dr. Peat,
I will donate 5 dollars to your PayPal account. I'm very worried about my physical state, I took 750 mcg of iodine or even more (I forgot the exact dosage) from a Norwegian kelp supplement for 4 to 5 days and I started to feel sweaty on my head while cycling for half an hour after those 5 days, and had a headache and rheumatic pain in my right arm. While cycling I felt my leg muscles really becoming tired and sensitive which I normally never have. I also had a slight penile contusion and I noticed during sex that my erection was much weaker than normal. I'm not sure whether this is due to the contusion or due to damage to my thyroid. I also noticed my hands and feet are colder and sometimes really cold at times. I'm on 19 mg of valium and 3 mg of risperidone too. I also smoke about 25 cigarettes a day. I feel less ambitious and energetic and my speech is sometimes troubled too, my voice being less loud. I also felt a sensation in my throat that might've come from the thyroid. Is my thyroid permanently damaged? There's an article by by endocrinologist saying high doses of iodine permanently damage the thyroid. And what can I do about my damaged penis? After having sex it feels bent and sore/bruised a bit again although no discoloration can be seen. I've already saw my GP for my penis and she said you can continue having sex as I see no signs of contusion now, and just wait it out for a few weeks.
I hope to hear from you soon,
With best regards,
Name here"
