Hi all,
Hoping you may have some insight (excuse the pun) on my eye situation.
These marks I now know to be due to my high cholesterol first developed around 3 years ago. They have slowly but surely got larger over time.
Have had genetic testing for FH which came back negative but stayed that I must still consider myself FH as my mother @Elderflower j58 who is a forum member also has high cholesterol.
My dilemma is, the docs want me on statins which I am unsure of as they did not help my mother. But they do reduce cholesterol, so would that reduce/remove the marks on my eyes?
The doc has offered surgical removal but in the same sentence said there is a high chance they will grow back.
Am I at more risk of a heart attack because of these marks? As other people with high cholesterol do not have them? Also will they eventually take over my whole face?
Naturally I would prefer not to have white patches above my eyes for vanities sake.
Thanks in advance for any help or guidance
Jess
