Which parts of the skin best absorb vitamins applied topically?

I asked Ray about this while searching myself for the best «place».

Ray's answer:

The legs, inner arms, tops of feet, and throat are good places for transdermal absorption.

I found that tops of feet and throat are definitively, for me, the best parts.

What about scalp?

Very interesting idea.
I think one must have shaved head and be sure to apply the vitamins before bed rather than during the day, though.

For sensitive topical solutions, my favorite spot is the neck. But for stronger things like magnesium oil, the calf is my preferred location.

Can you do this with vitamin d? Does it need to be a particular kind or just any liquid form?

Here's an interesting rat study:

It suggests to me that the shoulder is fine (or at least the back of it, one of the applications was to "the scapular region"), and that topical vitamin D could be absorbed well with alcohol. I wonder whether oil or alcohol is better.
