Turning Virgin Coconut Oil Into Refined

HI All. Someone very generously gave me a jar of virgin coconut oil not realizing the difference between it and refined oil. I can't return it the jar and am wondering if someone here knows of a simple way to turn the virgin oil into refined oil. Thanks.

RP mentioned in an interview that traditionally coconut oil was passed through
clay to refine it . I am not sure how it works, my guess is that they passed the
oil through layer of clay or clay pot. I think you can safely use this un-refined oil on skin
that will bypass the digestive problem. I have noticed when unrefined coconut oil
is used in cooking, it does not bother much. Heat possibly makes it easier on digestive tract.
You can also warm the coconut oil in a pot and let the sediments settle on the bottom and
then use a fine mesh to filter out those.
