Palm Kernal Oil Vs. Palm Oil

A minor point,
but I had been confused by the differences between these two oils.
I believe Peat, or one of the hosts of KMUD, may've used the term "palm oil"
to specify one of the good Peat oils.
Not sure...but I think so.
Should've said "palm kernal oil."

Some taco shells are fried in palm oil,
which I bought, only to find I really didn't want to eat them.

In short:
"They both come from palm trees, but there the similarity ends. Palm oil comes from the palm fruit, while palm kernel oil is extracted from the palm seed. And while over 80 percent of the fat in palm kernel oil is saturated, only 50 percent of palm oil is, making it easier on arteries. Palm oil's reddish or golden color is a clue that it also contains a fair amount of heart-healthy carotenoids. Some research even suggests that the fatty acids in palm oil don't raise cholesterol the way saturated fats traditionally do."

(Yeah, those wonderful PUFAs, so "easy on the arteries,"
and those great "heart-healthy carotenoids"...
But I think the data on the unsaturated/saturated content
is probably accurate.)

Yeah, I can see that angle.
On the other hand,
I've never really bought into the
"take-a-big-dose-of-E-if-you-happen-to-eat-PUFA-and-you'll-be-okay" gambit.
(I know you're not advocating that, Dan.)

I mean: should I perchance swallow a big glob o' PUFA,
I definitely would take a lot of E,
hoping to save myself.
But I don't think it is a reliable way to deal with PUFA
on a day-to-day basis.
I could be wrong.

I can't remember exactly how, in the immediate term, E helps with PUFA in humans.
I've heard Peat discuss it in an interview,
but I just can't remember the exact in's and out's.
Seems to me it may be a little bit different
from how E helps with stored PUFA.
I believe Peat said that in cows
E in their stomach/s is part of
the mechanism/s that allow them to detoxify PUFA.

I'm not exactly clear on how this translates to human stomachs and PUFA detox.
