I've been dissolving progesterone from capsules in coconut oil and filtering. So can't say exact dosage. I can no longer get it without prescription (this fact is so depressing). I can probably get a script but am considering whether I still need progesterone, can anyone comment?
1. It's started making me very sleepy next day . overdose / side effect / repletion?
2. Much improvement in PMS, cycle normalized (at 50! ) :D prolactin lowering, energy, well being
3. Thyroid supps seem to be working well - feeling much better in most ways
However...
1. Cholesterol remains very high to my surprise as improvement in symptoms led me to expect significantly lower reading. Cholesterol was 7.5 (290) before starting thyroid and now it's 7.2 (278) and triglycerides are really up - now 4.4 (390) compared with 2.73 (242) 7 months ago before thyroid supplementation. (I had run out of niacinamide a week or two before if that changes things).
Edit: I take b1, niacinamide, vit e. Pregnenolone progesterone thyroid. Sunlight, red light. Diet standard peatish,110 or so grams protein.

Hi sueq,

Saw no one responded. If you didn't find an answer:

You don't need a prescription for progesterone, and in fact you should be taking a natural one, NOT a synthetic that requires prescription. The synthetic can cause health problems, instead of fixing them. Protest-E from long natural health.com is really great!

Progesterone has a sedative effect at high doses. This is one of the good side effects and is not harmful.

I don't know anything about cholesterol, sorry.
