Should One Use A Thyroid Collar For A Dental X Ray Or Not?

Just regarding the use of a thyroid collar or not for a dental xray.. Shall i use it or not?

Some opinions stating that it can do more worse than good that you'll see from that link.. and then others obviously saying to use it..

Not sure what a collar is, but when I get x-rayed by my dentist, the shield comes all the way up to my chin, covering my whole neck. Not sure if all dentists have this, mine is a bio-dentist.
