Makes sense to me. But even the libertarian or crypto fascist won't get what they (currently think they) want at street level. They're just being weaponised.

They've turned the welfare state and tax codes in to an incentivising circus, while lying vast swathes of people in to "disability". Pacifying their potential, leaving the remainder blaming "the system" and calling a hammer a spade.
