I was asked about storing gelatin long term. My mind wandered to the 8 year old coconut oil I used to have in the basement, purchased when it was "fashionable" with Sally Fallon circles, but I wasn't ready to try it yet. Still smelled like yummy coconut, yes it was organic extra virgin of the "correct" brand as well.
Anyway, I was thinking about what lasted in the basement and what didn't. I am SOOOOOO glad I don't store brown rice anymore. NO MORE MOTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it would go rancid too (PUFAS) before using it up. Oh yeah and the wheat berries I would never use anyway. And buckwheat. And mung beans, I was going to sprout my own.
