The Extent Someone Needs To Drink Alcohol Is An Indicator Of How Hypothtroid They Are?

Do people who feel the need to get trashed have pretty bad hypothyroidism? They are probably escaping the anxiety and depression that occurs with hypothyroidism. Also I've read that alcohol can reduce serotonin. Broda barnes talks about alcoholics always being hypothtroid. I find this fascinating to be honest. So many people are struggling out there and the only way they can cope is with Xanax or alcohol

Not really asking a question here, just wondering what everyone's thoughts are.

I would agree with this. Back in a worse state of health I used to crave alcohol and feel the need to drink continually after I had started - same with cigarettes. More recently I've found I don't get the continual urge after I've had either of them.

Well its the same for many things including food. Including sugar, which according to Peat is needed in higher amounts in times of stress. However, in the case of alcohol it obviously might not be so helpful.
