Does milk block iron absorption ?

Does milk block iron absorption usually ?

Rp said once
That try to eat 3 eggs with a big cup of milk and a cup of orange juice

As I know orange juice improves absorption of fer/iron because of vitamin c in it

And usually ray try to block the iron absorption by coffee or cola

So any thought would be apreciate it

It sure does. Milk is a low iron, high calcium food. Calcium is well known to inhibit iron absorption, and the only one that is known to inhibit both heme and non-heme iron. On top of that, both milk and eggs contain iron binding compounds like lactoferrin.

Of course, how much iron is absorbed per meal depends on a wide host of factors, from iron content, inhibitor content, body iron stores, genetic factors, disease factors, and others. That's why, in any iron lowering strategy, you should always test things like TSAT and ferritin.
