Anyone ever tried the Steak and Egg diet?

It was invented by Vince Gironda, Bodybuilder in the 1960.

Its basically this:

Breakfast:-4 Eggs Harboiled
-1/2 pound of Ground beef cooked in Butter

Diner:-4 eggs Hardboiled
-1/2 pound of Ground beef cooked in Butter

Its made to loose fat and get really lean.

Google if you want to see Vince Gironda Physique. Hes was very lean.

Anyone tried it?

These types of diets maybe has therapeutic effects if you do it only for few days or just short period, but in long term it may cause problems.

Its very low in carb, sodium, calcium and manganese and probably copper.

Its high in phosphate.

There is no fiber in it, low glycine to other aminos ratio.

Btw there is a quote from vince calling manganese the "master mineral",and he used to supplement it. So he probably used other minerals lacking in that steak and eggs diet too.

there was a diet consisting of steak

https://www.amazon.com/Steak-Lovers-Diet-Melvin-Anchell/dp/1885236115

As livestrong says:
On the steak lover's diet, you may consume two or three meals, at which you're allowed all the meat you like, as long as it doesn't contain any "hidden carbs" such as dextrose, meat extenders, filler, etc. You may also eat one of the following per meal: one medium-sized potato, sweet potato, banana or pear; one half grapefruit, one medium slice of watermelon -- about one inch thick -- or 3/4 cup of blueberries; raspberries, grapes or cooked rice. Spices and carb-free condiments such as mustard and hot sauce are okay, as is butter, oil and even mayonnaise, as long as it contains no sugar. Beverage choices are limited to unsweetened black coffee and plain tea and water -- no artificially-sweetened drinks allowed.

People said it worked. It doesn't seem very low carb but I suppose it is definitely a reduced carb diet.

When you are using testosterone like drugs you can be lean and muscular on any diet that provides enough protein.
For humans concerned with health, and natural optimization of hormones/stress, a decent amount of carbohydrates are needed.
The majority of people probably need at least 200 grams of a non fiber fuel providing carbohydrate per day ; Glucose, Fructose, Sucrose, Lactose, etc..

I'd like to re-iterate that people who use powerful exogenous steroid hormones can get away with pretty much whatever they like, and should be ignored accordingly.

This was well before steroids hit the bodybuilding scene.
Ahem.... the first Mr. Olympia was Larry Scott... an admitted steroid user. Vince Gironda was his trainer.
as a matter of fact ALL of his Olympia winners are known steroid users.
Vince Gironda was a steroid user without any question what so ever.
I am not condemning him in any way shape or form... I have zero issues with people/athletes who juice
if that's their jam its their jam. However its critical that people know what is what.
Steak and eggs????? More like Steak and eggs and D-bol.
