A "Priming" Effect of PUFA?

I found a study which suggests a "priming" effect of PUFA in tumorigenesis.

Rats fed a diet containing 3% PUFA + 17% saturated fat experienced a similar rate of mammary tumorigenesis to rats fed 20% PUFA.

Rats fed only 3% PUFA or 20% saturated fat experienced a much lower rate of tumorigenesis (half as much as the former groups.)

I'm not sure how applicable this data is to general human health, but if some amount of PUFA intake is inevitable, it may be wise to reduce total fat intake.

Maybe more fat could be mobilized or the sunflower seed could be messing with desaturases, elongases... I would tend to digress, however, since people are eating two-three eggs per day and stuff. The question is what exactly are we trying to achieve here.
