mt_dreams said:What does it say about human emotion when we can feel immense emotion for a handful of humans dying in once place (france), yet very little emotion for a human death toll over 2000 on the very same day in a different geographical location (baka)?
I think it's related to the Hierarchy of Death. And, sadly, also to expectations: because of recent history, people are used to hearing about atrocities in Africa, but not about terrorist attacks in Paris.
