I don't gain weight so I don't have to worry about that aspect of it. White rice is just so much more convenient/satisfying/cheaper than a lot of fruit or OJ. Fruit and OJ is cold + a lot of liquid + you have to deal with de-peeling, peels, seeds, ripeness, stickyness (preperation) etc...
Oh and I did zero starch and only sugar and milk for a year and there was no difference, so I am over that no starch kick.
