turns out hes taking the pure crystalline form otherwise known as Testosterone Base. its meant to be very potent

whats confusing me is that everyone in TRT circles says oral administration is very ineffective and a complete waste of time apparantly. i dont know what to believe
Doesn't sound like he's taking it orally, he is absorbing it through the lips and tongue.

I would love to try this but unfortunately I'm American and don't want to go to jail for 20 years lol. Crazy laws here.

20 years? No one goes to jail for 20 years for using testosterone for personal use. There's an entire industry built around using illegal steroids. Your average "big" guys at the gym are usually on something, and they sure as hell wouldn't risk it if they would be facing 20 years in prison. The average police officer couldn't care less, and in fact a lot them use steroids themselves. I don't know If you were being facetious or not though.

There are many ways you could conciously tank your T levels, go to a doc and get tested and then he would prescribe you cream. But honestly its easy to buy online too.

Lol I was thinking of this too. Just take 11-keto-dht in very high doses then visit the doc.

Exaggerating, but it is an issue that such potentially beneficial substances are illegal while SSRI's and amphetamines are prescribed to children. I really don't understand why testosterone is seen in such a negative light.

Your guess is as good as mine. Typically anything that is abused is regulated at some point, but the fact that the federal government ever considered coming down on bioidentical steroids in the first place is truly baffling to me.

He was so impressed by wheat germ curing his fathers diabetes that he lived off it for over a year... and his diet has been pretty typical of what others were eating the majority of his life.
Didn't that destroy his teeth?

It was actually Brewer's Yeast not wheat germ. Peat himself was experimenting with wheat germ, and in that form the extremely high phytic acid ruined his teeth.

Testosterone is a masculizing substance, and like anything else regarding masculinity is widely (and wrongly) regarded as 'toxic'. I wonder how many easily prevented suicides are attributable to low test/high estrogen thanks to our environment, which could be easily solved with bio-identical hormonal options (once other causative factors are eliminated).

So he needs 30 cups of coffee, thyroid, progesterone, pregnenolone, DHEA, and now testosterone too even after decades of being PUFA free and basically following an orthorexic diet?

Doesn't inspire much confidence in his dietary suggestions
He doesn't take pregnenolone anymore, hasn't for years, he currently only gets about 500mg of caffeine from coffee per day on average, takes small amounts of DHEA and Progesterone, and doesn't use thyroid regularly. Ohh.. not to mention hes in his 80's and has put his body through hell with past poor dietary choices. And got started with good eating late in life. I think you are being extremely unrealistic/unfair as well as asserting things about him that are not true. Lets see how you are doing at 80+ with no doctors or pharmaceuticals.

I don't find his diet to be orthrexic at all. As someone who suffered from moderate orthrexia years ago when i eat IF, i find Peat's diet to be extremely logical and easy. I am not as strict as my man @tca300 with my food choices but i barely touch PUFA, which is easy for me. I don't find PUFA foods besides maybe peanut butter to taste good. Even this isn't a sacrifice, as i would way rather eat good dark chocolate than PB. Regardless, eating fruits, chocolate, good meat, milk, coffee, sugar, white rice, potatoes etc seems pretty normal to me. I think @haidut has a great grip at maintaining normalcy, while adhering to a Peat Friendly diet. I also drink beers occasionally, and have a very active social life. Hopefully most of you do as well. This is an important part of life.

Now, i will say that though @lampofred post is cynical and judgmental, it is relatively dissapointing to learn that he takes T. However, i think one of the good things about this forum is to learn not to judge people based on the state of their health. There shouldn't be a stigma attached to substances, especially when they help somebody. I will also say that if Ray takes T, you better damn well bet that he feels as if he needs it. I think we all underestimate how poor of health most people above the age of fifty are in. I think 80-90% of the men this age that i know take cholesterol meds, probably take viagra, etc.

I also think that Ray is a big time experimenter. He is so in love with research, that he probably figures why not try this? He's 80 and has recommended it to folks before. It makes plenty of sense the more you think about it.

+1!!!:darts:

There's a difference between Ray taking a low-dose supplement for personal reasons vs recommending that others take it as well.

Also, you'll notice that T vs Estrogen is becoming one of the most prevalent discussion topics due to the modern toxic food supply, so not a surprise that Peat might be experimenting with it.

Exactly! Low T and elevated E2 is much more dangerous imo!

I think it is important to note that a normal male daily output is somewhere from 6-10mg daily. Just for perspective. 1mg is most certainly NOT going to suppress his endogenous output.
