This is a topic of interest to me.
After all...
why should finding some healthy sh*t
to suppository up one's wazoo
be ridiculously expensive?!

Nowadays, with the economically practical PCR (or whatever it is) analysis
we should be able to find healthy colon biomes
and detect bad bacteria and other bad stuff.

Just find someone with really healthy digestion, politely request a donation, encapsulate, and ...

It seem repulsive
but I think that's essentially what you'd get going the official medical suppository route. :)

To me the difficult bit seems to be the conversation. :)
How's your digestion? In detail?
...
How would you feel about ...?

I have read breastfed babies who have never taken antibiotics are the best donors.

Ha. Yeah.
And I can picture wanting to feel very confident/secure about the source
if one ever really decided to try to find a "poop donor."

You'd probably want them to live in an obsessively clean home,
have exquisite grooming habits,
and look like the cleanest person on the planet.... :)

It would be a strange interaction for sure.

Not necessarily - I might want to know that their microbiota are good at handling whatever the environment throws at them. :)

What if you went over to pick up your medicine
and it was a grungy looking guy who smelled of urine
and he had the sample in a semi-crumpled Dixie cup?

Probably not. :(
But I might pick someone who got their hands dirty round soil, compost and animals, over someone who never let dirt touch their hands, and used bleach throughout their house every day. :)

That's a good point.

Probably the ideal donor is more like a cleanish looking gardener and avoider of toxins
with regular bowels and good digestion.

Well...
but then with the whole gut-mind connection thing,
you might really also be looking for a very smart/healthy/balanced/resilient person....

Sitting on another economic goldmine here.

If only I'd realised at the time - mine are too big for that now.
