I'm wondering if you were managing to eat more before you started your current Peat-inspired food choices? Is there food you can eat OK?
Today I din't feel too sick. I seem to be craving juicy frut but thats about it. I really have to force myself to eat any protei but once I eat it it seems to go down ok. I'm been eating mainly lamb and steak this past week becasue that's all that I've felt i could stomach
If you have been severely undereating for a while, refeeding syndrome can happen occasionally when someone starts eating normal amounts again. I think it can involve dangerous disregulation of electrolytes. I don't know what the standard treatment for it is, but as far as I know it is fairly straightforwardly treated if you get care quickly, but a big problem if not.
I was eating around 1700 calories for the past year so yes I would consider that undereating, When I asked the person I was consuing with aboutpushing my calories up she said I was doing fine where I was . I was proabably eating around 1400 previous to that.
Do you want to post your thyroid lab results? If they are very low, then some cautious supplementation might make a big diference, but you do need to eat to support additional thyroid, too. Have you tried
Have you been offered any medical advice? Low potasium can be a real problem.
Have you had your neck/spine checked out by a competent specialist - eg osteopath or physio?
I was going to a chiro around the time this started he was doing network chiro on me but it felt too intense and I stopped. i have no insurance yet so I'm a little stuck . I took a month off work and didnt get paid and now my blood tests are about to cost me $250 .. I went to a doctor today and he ordered labs for em including thyroid. I'm not sure if pottassium will show low in my blood but it has been constantly low on hair test for the past 3 years .I have tried to eatmore before , it alwasy make me feel rouh but i'm willing to try if this nausea backs off.
I have a vague memory of maybe grape juice being good for raising low potassium - it's also higher density than many juices, so may be useful from that pov too, if it agrees with you.
I don't know much about clonidine, but if your adrenals are really low, you may not want anything to artificially lower your stress hormones any further until you can get your energy up in other ways they may be what is keeping you going at all. I'm unsure about this, but Haidut might be worth asking.
Sugar can lower cortisol and adrenaline when they are high because of low sugar levels. Maintaining adequate sugar levels is important - that's your major fuel supply to keep everything working. If you can get your energy up by other ways than adrenaline and cortisol, that would be good.
I hope you can find a way out of this hole soon.
If I was in your situation I would try massage, exercises aimed at freeing the spine and breathing exercises.sunflower1 said:I'm having a nervous breakdown. I'm not concerned about mercury right now .. How can I get myself out of this stress response.
