Tonic over ice, add a bunch of bitters - ( 3 good shakes ) , add big splash of Roses lime juice. Let me know how you like!

I use wormwood here and there.
So many quality posts on this forum that have probably already covered this topic so please forgive me but what would be some negatives about using tiny amounts of bitters (i'm talking like one or two drops of tincture on the tongue just to activate the bitter receptor on the tongue) for toning organs, digestion and even nerves. Bitters obviously work on the liver in adddition to the spleen and pancreas so maybe this can also assist in lowering estrogen load in the body, thus also helping T. If I remember correctly, haidut wasn't a fan of this (I could be mistaken so please forgive if that was not his stance)...I would think Peat isn't a fan either..??
Just thinking
It's cheap, easy and pretty effective around meal time and with the amounts I'm talking about. there shouldn't be much "toxicity" in terms of phytoestrogens really to cause a problem (atleast from that angle).
Thoughts any/every-one?
Thanks as always
Is there a certain brand you are using?bitters

Very good, thank you. Think I will give the tincture a try.Nope. Depends what you'd prefer. Alcohol tincture or powder? I like powder (gentian root) simply because it's cheap and lasts a long time but I think any digestif/aperitif would be find. I combine with ginger powder as gentian can be rather cooling. Take before meals (or even after meals).
Let us know how it goes!I'm also going to do blood work soon as I'm curious to compare my TSH with last lab. That would be a good indication of how well its working on thyroid as I've been consistent with it's use for the last month or so.
@A.R i used it a few years back when I had some severe digestive issues that needed to be healed. I don't think it's bitter in any way but definitely soothing for the GI tract.
I have been using slippery elm for 20 years. Wonderful for constipation, diarrhea, stomach distress, etc. This book has a chapter on slippery elm, it is a book everyone should own, one of my first herb books:

I think if you are using slippery elm or marshmallow for throat soothing, tea is the best, however, for me, I just either put it in capsules or most of the time (I'm a veteran taking some of this stuff, lol) I just take a teaspoon of powder, put it in my mouth and swoosh it around with some water and swallow it, then drink an appropriate amount of water. In Thomas's book she talks about putting it in oatmeal, which is not bad since it mixes in quite nice and has a maple type of taste.Interesting thanks guys
What would you say is the best method to take? I make tea out the powder
