Majority of doctors wouldn't treat that prolactin number. They care about prolactin only when it's a prolactinoma which puts prolactin to thousands mIUs. When it's subclinical, it's sign of stress and ejaculations also raise it significantly but probably not your case. Mainstream medicine and steroid boards think subclinically elevated prolactin is irrelevant. This forum sees it very differently. It still made no difference to my libido or general mood to have it at 500 or 200.
Someone recently had 2000mIUs prolactin and was not treated as prolactin does not affect anything but fertility, it was said by the doctor. The person said that it does not want kids right now so it's ok.
That is one of the many persons I know with hyperprolactinemia.
So doctors even if that is in the huge top range do no prescribe or treat hyperprolactinemia. This person who is the patient cannot be convinced otherwise because the doctor said it's no problem, so there is no problem.
There is too much faith put in doctors. Usually in my experience (mine and people that i know) doctors to not treat high cortisol and high prolactin or low testosterone. There are only a minority of doctors who take these into account.
