EDIT: Okay I decided to find the study since it's silly if I talk about it and don't link it.
I like your style. There really is no excuse these days lol.

Fascinating study thanks for sharing. I feel bad for the mice, but at least there's a valuable lesson many of us can learn from and use to better ourselves.

Funny how after reading his books it's clear that Peat is pretty left-wing but the majority of people on here are right wing.

Once again, you could not be farther from the truth:

What does that video have to do with my point? And even this "great speech" is just an accumulation of empty buzz words and unspecific nonsense. The 1% are rich because they are old and saved money all there lifes, while all students are just complaining about their opression... He is just like my senile old neighbour, who can't stop telling his old WWII stories.
Here is the exact qoute from an interview where he says "the universities are actively agitating to produce people, who believe that all inequality is due to opression and power". He says the same stuff in other words in almost every interview. Like I said, it's delusional paranoia. No professor at any major university says something like that. I bet he looks under his bed every night to make sure there is no marxist hiding there.

I’m not here to argue, just to share. I graduated from University of Miami in 2017. I had a class called “health disparities” which actually was based on inequality of minorities in the healthcare system. My professor actually defined racism here as a systematic issue in which our current system creates an unfair disadvantage for minorities. We also had to discuss our gender pronouns... and we watched endless videos counting the deaths and discussing the deaths of both trans individuals and african americans killed by cops.... we had to go to a student production called “the tunnel of oppresion” for a grade, that discussed oppression of women, immigrants, african americans, muslims and trans/ homosexual individuals. I had to do an assignment to assess my privledge... because i was white on this assignment my privledge automatically went up a few points on the scale given in the assignment.

In my physiology class for nursing school they brought in trans individuals to speak to us about being trans. We had an entire class discussing sex changes. For context I was in the nursing program.

The fact that you'd call somebody like this "idiotic" and "egocentric" means you're either extremely jealous, extremely dumb or extremely insane. Which one is it?

He does come off as egocentric to me. He doesn't seem to be that sensitive to the difficult experiences of others.

He doesn't say anything that impressive to me either. I mean he's not a buffoon, but I never listened to him and said "wow, I didn't know that." He thinks he's so brilliant just for his logical reasoning, like it's not that hard dude. I'm glad he stands up to complete nonsense and states the obvious, but really smart people do so much more. Take a guy like Ray Peat on the who actually brings new useful information to the table based on his research. Plus he seems sensitive to other people and non-authoritarian.

Loudmouth? The volume of his speech is normal, so you must be referring to his willingness to express his frank opinions regardless of what is politically correct.

He is loud. And he sounds pissed off and harsh all the time.

Racial profiling, nice. Maybe next they can teach about hormonal health in transexual individuals.

Is one rule not to hesitate taking SSRIs and other feel-good stuff? He takes an SSRI and Bupropion himself, and he encourages people on TV to take those too, when they don't feel so shiny.

Incorrect. Most of us here are INDIVIDUALISTS. I think many, along with myself, would be happy to go back to the left if they dropped the collectivist, Marxist bent, dropped identity politics, and began focusing on the individual again (the smallest minority). The left has been co-oped by Marxists who have commingled collectivism and liberalism. Health and Individualism go hand in hand.

He definitely has SSRIs wrong, does that take away from his other points?

I haven't read it yet. I've discovered there isn't one human I completely agree with 100% and Peterson is no different. No one is perfect or right about everything.

Peterson doesn't know anything about biochemistry or human psychology. He is one of the most idiotic, egocentric loudmouths out there. I guess it makes sense that many people adore him, given that we live in the age of Trump&friends.

Thr hype surrounding this man is frightening.

This is, truly, idiocracy manifest.

What are his other points? That marxists and sjw are bad? What a revolutionary! For someone that claims to be inspired by Jung and Reich he is incredibly dull.
Concerning your other points: Where exactly do you see marxism and collectivism on the left? You are projecting the misguided gender phantasies of a few disturbed kids and sjw onto the whole left spectrum. To satisfy them the Democratic Party has picked up a few gender points, but economically they are just as individualist as the Republicans.
Would you be so kind and define what you mean by "the left" and where exactely you see the threat of marxism and collectivism? To me it sounds like you have simply been too many youtube videos.

Since the beginning of time, people have been responding to a truth teller with anger. The story of Jesus Christ is a good example. Whether you think it's a real historical event or a made up story - he was crucified for telling the truth.

Those who get angry at truth tellers are resistant to the truth, probably because they don't want to admit to themselves that they've been lying to themselves and others everyday of their lives.

The 1% are rich because they are old and saved money all there lifes, while all students are just complaining about their opression
I believe what he is doing by pointing that out is trying to empower them and relinquish the very beliefs that leave them feeling powerless to change the world.

@Kartoffel In your opinion, does conspiracy exist in this world or is it just paranoid people inventing lies?

Amen. It's the Trump effect. It doesn't matter how stupid you arguments are, if you're just loud enough and have a clearly defined bogeyman (neo-marxists), lots of angry people will follow you.

You realize that the concept of 'right wing' and 'left wing' is simply an apparatus used by the ruling class to divide and more-easily conquer the surfs, right?

Of course conspiracies exist. What's your point? Where is the conspiracy here? Marxists secretely taking over the country?
You talk about the dangers of "the ruling class", but you apparently have no problem when Peterson is downplaying the influence of exactely that class (the 1%) by saying their concentration of wealth and power is just a natural process ("nothing to be done here guys"). The rapid increase in inequality was created and is the result of conscious policy choices. If you want to hear something on the matter from some real scientists, I recommend you read "Winnter-Take-All Politics" by Jacob Hacker and Paul Pierson or "Affluence and Influence" by Martin Gilens.

I definitely think that socialism is where those in the positions of economic and political power are moving things. I'm sure they don't agree on every detail so their efforts are less than velvety, but many politicians have spoken publically about a new world order and that they're conspiring against the public to make it happen. That's admitted.

We know from studies in psyhocological and cognitive science that higher social class predicts increased unethical behavior, so these people have no problem doing whatever it takes to achieve their goals, including lying, cheating and stealing, as examples. Taking into account the cigarette, cancer, and vaccine industries, I'd like to add murdering-for-profit to that list of unethical behaviors.
Higher social class predicts increased unethical behavior

The class war that is happening in the world between the rich and the poor exists. The only uncertainty is what exactly their New World Order, socialist system, is going to look like.

The Solution?

One last thing I'd like to point out is that the conspirators are not the problem; they are the symptom, a mirror reflection of a world comprised of irresponsible, dishonest and spineless human beings. The root cause of this problem is humanity itself.

When people take responsibility for their thoughts and replace what they're told with conclusions derived from their own research, and become honest enough to admit the truth to themselves, and courageous enough to speak that truth publically regardless of what the outcome might be, all the evils and corruptions of the world will vanish before our eyes. The world is ours, if we, in the words of Dr. Jordan Peterson, 'SPEAK THE TRUTH!'

I don't think I am mistaking some tumblr posts for a giant move of the democrats to collectivists on the political spectrum. Just watch mainstream news. The constant merry go round of calling anyone the democrats disagree with a racist happens practically every day. Just off the top of my head:

-Senator Cory Booker went nuts over the shithole comments, decrying bigotry for the Africans.
-Ever heard of La raza? It means "The race" and is an advocate for Hispanics as a collective (https://www.nbcnews.com/news/latino/national-council-la-raza-changes-name-unidosus-n781261).
- The recent "women's march" is a political force based on collective identity. It is right there in the name really.
- Bill c16 which Peterson was refusing to follow used trans people as a collective, and forced certain speech use when addressing them.

All of these are based on addressing group issues. If you just watch mainstream news, which I do not recommend, all of the political pundits address issues by weighing different groups in the "who have white people hurt the most" hierarchy.

I am liberal at heart, truly. But I am also a white male, so I do not get to participate in the identity politics...so I guess I am a conservative now. If you think he is dull, then move along, but I have not really read any criticism of him in this thread that has any weight to it. Maybe identify some of his "stupid arguments" ?

Yes, the U.S. ruling class is full of marxists and socialists. Is this some form of satire I don't understand? I guess the Koch brothers and their buddies have been called many things, but socialists or even marxists is definitely going to be a new one for them :D
Seriously though - either you don't know what socialism means, or you haven't been paying attention to anything that is happening in U.S. politics. You correctly state that there is a conflicht between rich elites and the rest of the population. What I can't see is how you make the step from this observation to the idea that they are working on creating a socialst system? I think you have been watching a little too much Alex Jones and RebelMedia.
