Taurine And Muscle Aches

I recently started taking 500mg of taurine and it seems to coincide with some muscle aches, especially in my upper back, neck, and arms. (The taurine also adds to digestive issues- pain in my lower intestines which occasionally flares-which is why I've always stopped taking taurine when trying it previously).

Any idea why taurine would cause the muscle aches? I'm thinking something like it's taxing on my kidneys... but I haven't figured out why the kidney issue would cause muscle pain. Any thoughts?

Are you taking pure taurine? I think the digestion issue could be related to taurine increasing bile acid and that could increase serotonin in the gut. With time, taurine stopped giving me stomach issues. In fact, now it helps me digest food better.

Yes, pure taurine powder, no fillers. I figured that's why it was causing gut issues. Hard to muscle through it.
Still not sure why it would cause the muscle aches though. Could increased serotonin cause very noticeable muscle aches?
