There are a large number of books and medical articles on masturbation, written before the sexual revolution of the 60s when masturbation was still considered unhealthy. But they don't pop up so easily in search results. They were written in the early 1900s, some in 1800s and a few of them even 1700s, without going into the ancient writings on the subject. Some of them may have bits of religious dogma, but the large majority are based on empirical hard evidence, not on theory like the modern propaganda. The coomer's only arguments are "serotonin = good, endorphins = good, oxytocin = good, therefore masturbation = good". I haven't seen anything else in favor, so far.
Those articles were written by the people affected by post-orgasmic illness syndrome - just compare those symptoms from them with ones described by POISers lol

Which symptoms do you have after orgasming/ejaculating?

What about my rapist theory (hahaha)?
I've read that violence and pornography addiction have correlation, with violent prisoners being heavily into porn. Forced celibacy or sexual repression can definitely generate such explosive and disturbing effects, but typically those who voluntarily pursue abstinence report increased respect towards the opposite sex and reduced sexualization of them.

Ah, interesting... so kind of like priests who voluntarily pursue abstinence are more likely to respect the opposite sex.

But does it affect their hormones for abstaining for such a long time (is there also a dibilitating factor in doing so, ie. health wise)?

I have no data on that, but I'd venture on to guess that so long as they're healthy they will be androgenic whether or not they're celibate. In short term, say months of abstinence, testosterone and other androgens usually skyrocket.

The fact that a cold stopped it temporarily and that nutrition/sleep/exercise/lifestyle/sunbathing has got zero impact on it or whatsoever makes me believe that at least in my case the POIS root cause is either in the nervous system or brain or limbic system AND in immune system or both likely some type of neuroimmune disorder
I've just read your post earlier about POIS, which is kind of scary to think of -- as from what I read just now, is that it's most likely an auto-immune issue.

So would a Carnivore diet (or some low-carb science) help with it, since you already mentioned your diet?

Won't they shoot rocks though, when they ejaculate for the first time in many years (hahaha)?

Haha, maybe; as I don't want to sound like I'm an all knowing being...

I used to do nap fap on a carnivore diet, which I think is kind of easy to do if you're on that diet.
Since overtime, you tend to feel way more lethargic than you were.
I did that for over close to 3 months (the no fap), then when I've decided ejaculate -- the way it went out was too strong that it got on to my face [bukake emoji].

In regards to my rapist theory, I always just come up with that same argument when there's some news about rapists.
'Cause the way I think of it is that, if they've already desensitized themselves from that particular activity; they won't be doing such a thing (but again I maybe wrong).

And I also ejaculate before going into some jiu-jitsu sparring (only if I feel that my hormones are high).
Doing so makes me not think of anything lewd when sparring with the opposite sex.

- have good, meaningful sex with your partner but don't watch and don't masturbate to porn
Right but a lot of us don't have access to that so what do you expect us to do? Just explode?

You don't need the porn industry to have an orgasm.

Do it to your imagination (or to the physical sensations only). Just don't watch porn. Your body will tell you when you have accumulated too much sexual tension.
Usually it's once a week if you are in your 20s, once every two weeks in your 30's, and less frequently if you are older.

I think it's kind of ridiculous, there are better options available to guys porn / VR but because of some stupid puritan bird-brain theory that jerking off is bad for men we should stop?

Did you know that Tesla himself was a lifelong celibate and deemed it a necessary prerequisite for being an inventor?

Idk isn't this Peat forum pro-dopamine. Jerking off is probably quite dopaminergic, same as sugar, ice cream etc.

I think people are quite confused when they think not jerking off does anything for dopamine...if you are looking at a dopamine FAST basically training yourself to get excited with doing mundane things then yes...

Doesn't prolactin antagonize dopamine though?

Subjectively it does, you are confused if you think that because you don’t experience any negative with it it mean that someone can’t experience anything negative with it,or you aren’t good at paying attention to your feelings

all orgasms trigger prolactin whether sex, wetdream or masturbation. i think some claim sex increased prolactin more, but that's probably due to a variety of reasons. there's supposed to be a quick spike and a quick drop in prolactin after any form of orgasm. in unhealthier people, proactin doesn't go up as much, but stays mildly elevated for a longer period of time which causes all the issues. prolactin causes the refractory period, so in a healthy person it would be minimal whereas as you get unhealthier the refractory period lasts longer.

both sex and masturbation seem to decrease energy temporarily, it may simply be that the body needs lots of resources to create sperm/semen,
