I figured out that coconut oil causes me severe insomnia. So bad that I can not even fall asleep and up until morning, or even if I fall asleep I am up at midnight and no matter how much I eat at night, I am too active to go back to sleep again.
I am prone to insomnia anyway and have been trying to fix it for 3 years, but I had almost 1-2 months now, that my nights were almost perfect, I only woke up maybe at 2-3 am but could sleep further. I live in a sunny place and I noticed when I used coconut oil as a sun cream my sleep was always worse. In fact, I tried to rub my face with a mixture of coconut oil and sodium bicarbonate, which made my skin on my face look perfect, but every time I did it even if it was in the morning, I had a "pulling" feeling in my head and could not sleep during the whole night. I figured this out quite quickly after a few days that it does not agree with my face, so stopped to use it.
And now in the last days I increased my CO consumption up to like 3 tbsp, and the insomnia kicked in again, it took me 3 days to figure it out that it was the coconut oil, but now internally... So I guess I raised my metabolism too much, and I assume I would have the same effect from thyroid, as well. Like driving a car without fuel... My diet is rich in fruits, dairy, and I almost only use honey, so not too much empty calories and eat between 2500-3000 kcal. (woman) Should I focus on improving my gut to help digesting foods better or what can one do in this case?
