I'm with you on genetics - even if some genes may predispose to some issues, there are often other contributing factors more in our control.
I expect Dr. O understands your need to cry. And expect you've brought enough good thinking into her office that she won't write you off as silly or irrational (as some drs probably would).
Yeah, I just felt bad dumping that on her. She just looked at me and didn't know what to say. I always go in there really positive and armed with a plan of attack, but I know she gets how frustrating this has been. She's dealing with her own health struggles and isn't that old herself. She's only 39 and her health struggles are quite similar to mine. She also shares a similar childhood experience where she too was molested by a female so she understands what it's taken just to overcome that. She just recently started getting help with that herself and is realizing how much it has contributed to her current health problems and how she deals with stress. I'm proud of her and how she's working through it. It's not easy reliving that kind of pain.

When I get stuck--or feel that I'm going backwards--
sometimes I will just shake things up,
try something different.
Sometimes a lot of things different. :D

I noted some of the things I changed a while back.
But there are a couple of very safe things you might try
that I would recommend from my own experience:
-lysine
-methylene blue

I have a theory that there is no one in the world who doesn't love icecream.
Some people are partial to chocolate (which is super weird to me) but I haven't met anyone who
would turn down some ice cream!

My cat is obsessed with it too.

Hmmm....I hate to bust your theory, but I had a friend who disliked icecream no matter what flavor.

You mean we don't all scream for ice cream? And the lies we've been fed continue to pile up. Let me guess...stepping on a crack doesn't break my mother's back? :P

Is this your child?

Stay tuned for a book I'm writing, about how a dislike of ice cream indicates demonic possession.

It does look a little thin, doesn't it... I guess the producers of the Omen ran out of corn syrup and substituted for a light cranberry juice. Very Peat friendly ;)

What movie is the photo from, Kitty? He looks like that noddy boy from Full House who was Michelle's classmate. His name was Aaron. I think he was in Kindergarten Cop, also. I'll go google it!

Thanks for the advice, narouz! I appreciate it. :)

Another one I've been using is famotidine (Pepcid).
haidut did a bit on it.
It suppresses nitric oxide.
As does methylene blue.

I believe Peata uses famotidine and lysine too (?)
haidut has good info on all those supplements.
Your difficulties have a gut aspect, as do mine.
Those supps I mentioned have actions in the gut arena.
I've been seeing some good improvements since I started using them.

Another thought I had, Jennifer:
I know it may seem like a lot of work,
but it might be effective for you to summarize your problems.
I forget how many pages you're up to,
but not everyone has followed along.
I've been in and out myself, and could use a good summing up.

You have a lot of supporters here,
and if you could place your case before us again,
relatively succinctly,
forum members might feel better able to make suggestions.
I would like to hear, for one, what haidut might recommend.
He's a great resource.

Hang in there.
That's an order! :D

Yep, I know him! He's so adorable! ;D
I watch Full House all the time, now that I'm old enough to appreciate uncle Jesse from a strictly visual perspective! ;P

Did you hear that Netflix is planning on reviving the show? It's gonna be centred around DJ and Stephanie's families I think. I'm actually a little bit giddy just thinking about it! ;D

I was thinking of you when I read Haidut's recent thread about amino acids for people with digestive issues:

Thank you for linking that to me, tara! I actually posted on it about the potato protein soup as an alternative. :)

Ahh...Uncle Jesse! Have Mercy! Hehe! Did you ever notice his last name changed early on in the show. :? Joelle and I had talked about them reviving it. I don't watch much TV, but I think I need to start watching Full House reruns. A half hour that ends with everyone's problems being solved in a feel good scene with sappy music. You gotta love it!

Yes, Sir! *salute* :D

Current blood work posted here:

viewtopic.php?f=15&t=5200&start=540#p87904

5-HIAA urine serotonin metabolite test results were 3.5 (ref. range <=10)

Current issues:

- Osteoporosis
- Extremely low progesterone levels
- Consistently low D levels
- Brain fog/lightheaded particularly after consuming dairy fat
- Rash/hives and subsequent scabbing from fat, honey, fruits/juice and coffee
- Diarrhea with breakthrough bleeding (lasts 3 days) and if I eat fat, honey, fruits/juice and coffee
- light yellow stools
- Finger tips tingle and go numb and big toe has been numb for 4+ years
- Gallbladder tenderness/palpitations if I eat too much meat, eggs and full-fat dairy
- Feeling of a lump in my throat after eating meat, eggs and full-fat dairy
- Shiners
- Depression

Things discovered:

- Severe osteoporosis
- Gallbladder stones
- Low progesterone level
- Low vit. D level
- Tendency toward low cholesterol
- High TSH
- Carotenemia (Was full body orange, now just the bottoms of my feet)
- Bacterial infection (Genova stool test)

Looking to:

- Reverse osteoporosis and remodel 12 compressed vertebral fractures
- Prevent diarrhea, rash/scabbing
- Prevent brain fog/lightheadedness
- Get rid of depression

Only things that worked so far:

- Minocycline got rid of the rash and churning gut, but came back after I stopped it
- Progest-e helps me menstruate
- Dropping starch and fiber stopped the indigestion and bloating

I started a list of what I've tried, but it's long and I'm trying to keep this concise.

Honestly, I think my biggest problem is my gallbladder, possibly due to a B12 deficiency given the tingles I get. They're not the good kind. Hehe!

I need to let go of the idea of bad amino acids and just eat meat and shellfish daily. Despite what my blood work says, I'm probably deficient in nutrients due to my sparse diet of milk, white sugar, MCT oil and an egg a day so I need more variety. I'm going to have to deal with some unpleasantness for a while till my gut adjusts. It's probably half the reason I struggle to get that spark of happiness running through me.

I was talking to one of my old hiking friends this week and he said he missed my unquenchable cheerfulness on the trail. I had forgotten that I was pretty cheerful and now I'm super quiet all the time, despite my long logs suggesting otherwise. LOL I need to figure out how to get all the essential nutrients without ODing on milk. Looks like I'll be playing around with Crono this weekend.
