I do recall what you are talking about Mittir- as I remember Ray said at some point in time in a past interview that when he was consulting with people he suggested to them that his fee would be 10% of that person's annual income.

If I recall correctly, it wasn't 10% of the annual income, but 0.1%, or about a third of what a person makes in a day.

I remember it being one one thousandth or .001, so if you made 30K a year a visit would be 30 bucks a visit...er something like that.

Iodine Blocks PUFA?

I was reading a Ray Peat discussion on another website. Here's a claim:

Antioxidants help to offset the consumption of unsaturated fats. There are a number of antioxidants such as glutathione, vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin A, and alpha lipoic acid. One very important one is iodine since it binds to the double carbon bond in the unsaturated fat chain, blocking oxidation.

Is it true? Is it why some people feel better when they take iodine?

It has been proposed here that it does.

I wonder what Ray Peat thinks about astaxanthine.
I read that this is one of the most potent molecules to inhibit fatty acid oxidation.

Something interesting: Vitamin A regulates adipose tissue. Link

Apparently vitamin D also has a role in regulating adipose tissue.

Eggs are great. If one day you didn't eat enough protein, eggs are an easy, cheap, and fast way to get it.

One of nature's perfect foods... I usually poach mine as I prefer runny yolks with lots of salt. In addition, I always keep a bowl of hard boiled eggs in the fridge. They go great with cold shrimp and spicy cocktail sauce.

The anti-stress drink made of orange juice, gelatin powder, and coconut oil should have a name.

Maybe if you blended it, it could be called cloudy OJ or something like that.

Wait, Coco-j has a right to it...

When I put coconut oil in my milk, it makes these hard chunks at the bottom that blend with the sugar and salt. Yum.

I wonder if it's the A in estro-ban that you are missing the most? I had a big change when I started taking it and A was the only vitamin in the combo that I wasn't supplementing in any form (except eating liver).
